Xbox Games Showcase 2026: Everything Announced, Ranked in Your Brain by How Loud You Yelled

Sunday’s Xbox Games Showcase was the kind of show that makes you remember why you care about this stuff. After years of Xbox taking lumps for going multiplatform and letting its library feel like a Game Pass blur, June 7th felt like a reset. Asha Sharma hosted for the first time, and the energy was different. Microsoft came to plant a flag.

Here’s everything that went down.

Gears of War: E-Day Opens the Show (And Then Gets Its Own Direct)

The world premiere gameplay trailer for Gears of War: E-Day dropped viewers into the terror of Emergence Day itself, the moment the world fell and the bond between Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago began. Opening the show with your biggest gun is a statement. They followed through by confirming E-Day will be an Xbox console exclusive, and it’s not a timed deal. That matters. The Coalition then stuck around after the main show for a full Gears of War: E-Day Direct, going deep on story, gameplay, and the history of the franchise. E-Day is set to release on October 6.

Halo: Campaign Evolved Gets a Date and New Missions

Halo: Campaign Evolved is a remake of the original Halo, focusing entirely on the single-player campaign, rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5 with redesigned levels and new narrative additions that acknowledge the broader Halo series. The showcase revealed three new missions featuring Master Chief and Sergeant Johnson, called Operation: Meteorite. It supports two-player split-screen co-op and up to four online, with cross-play between PC and consoles. It launches July 28 on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. Pre-order to get in five days early starting July 23.

Fable Finally Has a Date

Playground Games revealed a new trailer for Fable with actress Hayley Atwell playing Isabel, one of the game’s main characters. And after years of waiting, Fable is set for February 23, 2027 on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. The game’s first expansion, Order of the Hero, is already confirmed and included in the $100 Premium Edition.

Spyro Is Back. A Real One.

Toys for Bob announced Spyro: A Realm Beyond, the first original Spyro game in almost 20 years, featuring a new world, expanded exploration, and true dragon flight. Tom Kenny returns as the voice of Spyro. Spring 2027 target. The crowd deservedly lost it.

Ninja Theory revealed Senua, a new action-adventure game set in the Hellblade universe. No Hellblade 3 branding, new direction. Then Undead Labs showed the first gameplay trailer for State of Decay 3, featuring solo and four-player co-op survival in a world overrun by blood plague. Both are 2027.

Persona 6 Is Real

Atlus delivered a release date trailer for Persona 4 Revival and then announced Persona 6. Persona 4 Revival drops February 18, 2027. Persona 6 has no release date yet, but the vibe reportedly skews closer to Persona 3. That’s the announcement that had the internet melting down for about 20 minutes straight.

Clockwork Revolution, Call of Duty, and the Rest of First-Party

Clockwork Revolution also received the Xbox console exclusive designation alongside E-Day. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 showed its DMZ extraction mode, sending solo players or squads into a live combat zone to recover tech and extract with whatever they can carry. MW4 is out October 23. Minecraft Dungeons II has a September 29 release date.

Third-Party Highlights

Sega brought back Crazy Taxi with Crazy Taxi: World Tour, coming in 2027 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5. Doom: The Dark Ages Revelations launches July 7 as a new campaign expansion with new weapons, deeper puzzles, and new demons. Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse from Konami, Evil Empire, and Motion Twin has an October release date, landing right in time for Halloween. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is out August 27, shifting focus to a new protagonist named Sophia in what sounds like a prequel with a different rhythm from the previous entries. Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember was also announced, a sequel to one of the better Soulslikes of recent years, due in 2027.

25th Anniversary Hardware

Xbox revealed the Series X25 Limited Edition console and Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition in honor of the brand’s 25th anniversary. Both use a translucent design inspired by the original Xbox, with the controller also bringing back the original ABXY colors and the classic black-and-white bumpers from the original Duke controller. They’re releasing in November.

The Takeaway

This was an Xbox showcase that actually felt like Xbox giving a damn. Between the exclusivity announcements on E-Day and Clockwork Revolution, the volume of release dates, and genuine surprise reveals like Spyro and Persona 6, Microsoft put together something worth rewatching. The next six months are packed. The next year looks genuinely exciting. That hasn’t always been easy to say.

TL;DR (For The Skippers)

Big show. Gears of War: E-Day opens October 6 as an Xbox console exclusive (not timed). Halo: Campaign Evolved drops July 28 with new missions and co-op. Fable finally has a date: February 23, 2027.
