World of Warcraft Housing Decor: Dungeon & Raid Drops From Orgrimmar (Horde Guide)

AJ HansonCtrl Issues1 month ago392 Views

World of Warcraft housing decor is finally a real thing, and suddenly everyone cares way more about old dungeons than they did yesterday.
The problem? Figuring out which bosses drop housing decor and how the hell to get there from Orgrimmar has been a confusing mess of half-tooltips, outdated travel guides, and “just Google it” vibes.
World of Warcraft Housing

A quick look at some of the World of Warcraft housing decor you can farm from old dungeons and raids.

So this article does two things:

  1. Gives you a clean, current list of every dungeon and raid boss that drops World of Warcraft housing decor right now.
  2. Explains, in plain language, how to reach each instance from Orgrimmar without needing eight tabs of Wowhead open.

If you want Blizzard’s broad-strokes explanation of the feature, you can check the official updates on World of Warcraft housing decor and player housing.

This guide is about the part they didn’t spell out clearly: the shopping list.

Why World of Warcraft Housing Decor Feels So Confusing Right Now

Housing itself is straightforward: you claim a home, you get a catalog, you place furniture, you lose three hours adjusting a single chair by two pixels.
The confusion kicks in when you try to answer one simple question:
“What drops where, and how do I go get it?”

The information is technically “available,” but it’s scattered:

  • The in-game Decor Catalog tells you a source, but not always the practical route or context.
  • Official blogs mention decor from achievements, dungeons, raids, vendors, events, and crafting, but not all in one place.
  • Fansites list specific World of Warcraft housing decor drops, but not how to physically get to the instance from a modern Horde capital.
  • Reddit is busy arguing about whether decor being one-use and one-per-run is a brilliant design choice or a crime against humanity.

On top of that, housing launched with a very small set of decor coming from legacy PvE content.
It’s easy to assume “tons of dungeons must drop stuff now” and then waste an evening speed-running half of Azeroth for nothing.

The reality:

  • Only a short list of older dungeons and raids currently drop World of Warcraft housing decor.
  • Decor from dungeons almost always comes from the final boss.
  • Raids can have decor on specific named bosses, not necessarily the last one.
  • These drops are guaranteed for your first copy—no low-percentage grind—but you need to rerun content if you want multiple copies of the same item.

So let’s skip the clutter and get to the good part: what drops, where it drops, and how to get there from Orgrimmar in 2025 reality, not 2012 nostalgia.

World of Warcraft Housing Decor Drops by Dungeon & Raid

Below is every known dungeon and raid decor drop that’s live right now.
For each one, you’ll see:

  • The decor item.
  • The dungeon or raid and boss that drops it.
  • A practical route to the instance from Orgrimmar as Horde. (Alliance coming SOON)

Assumptions: you’re playing on modern retail, you have access to the Orgrimmar portal room, and you’re not doing this on a level 20 trial alt with no flight paths unlocked.

How the World of Warcraft Housing Decor Drops Actually Work

A few rules of the road so you don’t second-guess yourself mid-run:

  • Guaranteed drops for the first copy:
for this specific set of dungeon and raid decor, you should see the decor item every time you kill the correct boss, at least for your first copy on that character.
  • Dungeons = usually last boss: in the list above, decor comes from the final boss of each dungeon.
  • Raids = specific bosses: Nighthold and Siege of Orgrimmar have decor on particular bosses (Spellblade Aluriel, Garrosh), not necessarily the end of the raid’s loot table.
  • One item, one placement: if you want three copies of a fireplace or fountain in different rooms, you need three copies of the decor in your catalog – which means multiple runs.

Combine that with the fact that the game doesn’t really flag these bosses in-game as “hey, this is a housing drop,” and it’s no wonder people have been bouncing between addons, guides, and guesswork.

TL;DR (For The Skippers)

  • World of Warcraft housing decor only drops from a small, specific list of legacy dungeons and raids across Classic, Mists of Pandaria, Warlords of Draenor, Legion, Battle for Azeroth, Dragonflight, and The War Within.
  • Almost every dungeon decor piece comes from the final boss; raid decor comes from specific bosses like Garrosh in Siege of Orgrimmar and Spellblade Aluriel in The Nighthold.
  • Drops are effectively guaranteed for your first copy, but you’ll need repeat clears if you want multiple copies of the same fireplace, rug, table, or trophy in your housing layout.
  • This guide is written from a Horde perspective: every entry tells you exactly how to reach that dungeon or raid from Orgrimmar using portals, zeppelins, and flight paths that actually exist in 2025.
  • Use it like a shopping list: pick the decor, find the expansion section, follow the travel notes, get in, delete the boss, grab your World of Warcraft housing decor, and go back to arguing with your chair placement.

Why This World of Warcraft Housing Decor List Exists (And How to Use It)

The goal here is simple: reduce the “WTF do I run?” factor down to something manageable.

If you’re playing Horde with Orgrimmar as your home base, you can treat this guide as a shopping list for World of Warcraft housing decor:

  1. Pick the decor piece you want for your house.
  2. Find it under the appropriate expansion header.
  3. Follow the short travel route from Orgrimmar.
  4. Kill the boss, grab the decor, and get back to rearranging your chairs for the twentieth time.

The list will grow as Blizzard adds more decor sources to older content, but right now this is the full known set of dungeon and raid housing drops you can reasonably chase in a weekend.

If you want more unfiltered takes like this, check out our other coverage on
Ctrl Issues and the rest of Press X to Skip.

Until Blizzard puts a big glowing house icon next to decor-dropping bosses, guides like this are the difference between “quick targeted farm” and “I just accidentally ran six raids for transmog instead of furniture.”

Hopefully this keeps you in the first category.
